Philosophy of Care
I believe recognizing and making the decision to better ourselves when we may be struggling with obstacles in our life is one of the most courageous and strongest steps any human can take.
My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for my patients where positive changes may occur. Making these positive changes and self- improvements can be very uncomfortable and challenging at times that may lead to feelings of being alone and hopelessness. Most of us have fears which we do not know how to handle or cope with at times in our life; fears of failing, fears of rejections, shame or just feeling imperfect. This is where we collaborate with each other and begin to build a relationship based on mutual trust and respect. My role as the therapist is to provide the support and strategies to help each individual with their own unique story.
The patient is the expert in their journey and in charge of the outcomes they wish to achieve. The role of the patient in therapy is to be present, active, participate, take ownership, and collaborate with their therapist to find solutions to help with positive changes.
